FRIENDS REUNITED

Peter Taylor will take charge of the Wanderers at Adams Park for the first time on Saturday and while there'll be plenty of new faces for him to meet around the ground, he'll need no introductions to the man facing him in the opposition dugout.
Ahead of the game Wanderers boss Peter Taylor told wwfc.com: "I've got good memories of Southend - especially as it was the club I started at. I'm sure they'll give us a very good game because they are a good, attractive footballing side.
"I'm looking forward to seeing our performance as we've really started to look better in the past couple of weeks. We did well against Oxford and we are starting to show the signs. The Southend game is about - as the other pre-season games have been - performance and fitness."
Southend United boss Steve Tilson was a regular in the Shrimpers side managed by Taylor between 1993 and 1995 and the pair have remained friends ever since, coming head-to-head on three occasions since Tilson was appointed manager of the Roots Hall side in 2003.
The first of those came when the current Wanderers boss was in charge of Hull City, and a goal from new Wycombe coach Junior Lewis helped the Tigers to an entertaining 2-2 draw in April 2004. Southend were in the Championship when Tilson next came up against his former boss and Taylor's Crystal Palace side completed the double over the Shrimpers, winning 3-1 and 1-0 in the 2006/07 campaign.
Tilson was present at the Blues' recent friendlies against Stevenage Borough and Chelmsford City not just to check out the opposition for Saturday's friendly but also to catch up with his long-time friend, but they'll be rivals for 90 minutes at Adams Park as both teams look for a morale-boosting win ahead of the new season.

New signings Lewwis Spence, John Mousinho, Gavin Grant, Chris Zebroski, Magno Silva Vieira and Nathan Ashton are all set to make their first appearances for the Blues at Adams Park following their moves to the club in the summer.
Southend United: Striker Lee Barnard and midfielders Alan McCormack and Damien Scannell are expected to miss out through injury while forward Alex Revell is looking to impress after missing much of last season with groin problems.

Matchday Programme:
Wycombe Wanderers are proud to unveil their new matchday programme for the 2008/09 campaign and fans will be able to get their hands on a 16-page edition for FREE at this weekend's match.
Entitled 'The Quarters', the programme is designed and printed by a company called Shoot The Moon, who also provide publications for Tottenham Hotspur and British Airways.
And to give supporters a glimpse of how the new programme will look throughout the season, we're giving it away for free this weekend - although any donations to the ScannAppeal cancer charity would be greatly appreciated.
