Junior Lewis joined the Blues as First Team Coach in June 2008 to work alongside Peter Taylor following a successful playing career which saw him feature in every division of the professional game.

Born in Wembley in 1973, Lewis began his career as a youngster at Fulham in 1992 before dropping into non-league with Dover and Hendon between 1993 and 1999. It was with Dover that the midfielder first worked under Peter Taylor, and the pair were re-united at Gillingham in 1999 following Taylor's appointment at Priestfield.

A move to the Premiership with Leicester City followed before he spent time on loan at Brighton under Taylor, and Lewis enjoyed spells at Swindon, Hull, Brentford, MK Dons and Stevenage before hanging up his boots at the end of the 2007/08 campaign.

Lewis' first coaching role was under Martin Allen at Brentford and it was at Griffin Park that he first worked with Damien Doyle, who joined Junior at Adams Park as Head of Medical and Sports Science.

Junior will manage the reserve team during the 2008/09 campaign and has hinted that he might be tempted to feature in the second team from time to time.
