Mike Williamson has told wwfc.com that the Blues squad isn't bothered that the media are dubbing them the underdogs as they get ready for the play-off semi-final 2nd leg showdown at Edgeley Park on Saturday evening.

He said: "It's all even going into the 2nd leg. We were a little disappointed to come off only having drawn the game but it was only going to be a wonder goal like the one the lad scored to get them back in it.

"We've taken heart from our performance and we'll go there next Saturday and play our own game."

'Willo', who was wearing the captain's armband in place of David McCracken in the 1-1 draw, put in another towering performance at the heart of the Blues defence alongside Leon Johnson and the pair combined excellently to deny Stockport's top scorer Liam Dickinson.

And the Chairboys no. 6 said: "Dickinson is a good player, he's big and strong, but me and 'LJ' dealt with him well and to be honest he didn't really get a sniff."

The 24-year-old has been colossal since making his first team return in the 1-0 defeat at Hereford in March following nearly a year out through injury, and the former Southampton man played an integral role in helping guide the club into the play-off spots with two games to spare.

The Wanderers back five need just one more clean sheet to beat the club's all-time record of 19 in the Football League, held currently by Martin O'Neil and Paul Lambert, and let's hope 'Willo' and his defensive compatriots can claim the accolade when the squad travel up north for the play-off semi-final 2nd leg at Edgeley Park on Saturday.

'Willo' is already looking forward to the game as he told wwfc.com: "We have been dubbed the underdogs right from the start and that won't change now following the result. The goal doesn't change anything though and regardless we will still go up there and go for the win.

"The pressure will be on them as they are at home and maybe that can give us a better chance of going through."

The Blues kick-off at 6pm on Saturday just as they did at Adams Park on Sunday, and the centre-half has sent a rallying cry out to all the Wanderers fans by declaring: "We're confident we can go there and get a place at Wembley."
