GIRLS NARROWLY MISS WEMBLEY TRIP
By Ben Campbell

Mandeville School A team have narrowly missed out on a trip to Wembley after finishing runner-up in the Football League Girls Area Final.
The U13 6-a-side team competed in a round-robin tournament on behalf of Wycombe Wanderers, after winning the Wycombe catchment tournament at Cressex AstroTurf late last month.
Over 20 teams took part in the Wycombe based 6-a-side which included schools from Wycombe, South Bucks and Aylesbury with Mandeville defeating Burnham Grammar A on penalties in the final, after neither team could find the net during normal or extra-time.
After their local triumph they represented the club in the Area Final at Moulton College in Northampton playing against the likes of MK Dons. But after beating the hosts Northampton 1-0 in their opening game they were narrowly edged out by the eventual winners MK Dons in their following fixture.
The team won a whole host of sports equipment for their school as well as an individual medal and a team trophy before they met first team Wanderers stars Stefan Oakes and Matt Bloomfield, to whom they asked questions and obtained autographs from.
The girls will also do a lap of honour ahead of the Blues' League Two game with Chester City on the 19th April.
Community Officer Alan Dunham said: "The girls did really great. They are a real credit to their school and represented the club in a tremendous manner at the Area Finals."
