Kids from local schools were treated to another excellent No Messin' Open Day at Adams Park this week.

Over 550 kids attended the two-day annual event in conjunction with Network Rail, and they enjoyed both exciting football based activities as well as a presentation from Network Rail representative Terry Hawkins.

Firstly Mr. Hawkins outlined the potential dangers of the railway before the club's Community scheme handed out free goodies, which included wristbands and dog tags with the No Messin' logo on.

The idea of the days were to inform and educate the children as well as having fun, and that's certainly what they had after enjoying activities such as beat the keeper, speed gun, playing a game on the inflatable pitch as well as taking part in a variety of skill based football activities.

And as an added bonus for the children they were also shown around Adams Park on a complete tour of the stadium, looking at the changing rooms, the trophy cabinet in the boardroom and getting the chance to see the view from each of the four stands.

On Monday, Disraeli, Millbrook, Bookerhill and St.Paul's schools were all in attendance as were Ashhill, Beechview, Castlefield, Kingswood and Cressex Secondary school on the Tuesday.

Assistant Community Scheme Manager Alan Dunham was delighted with the event and told wwfc.com:

"Both the days were a complete success with a number of hard-hitting facts given to all those who attended. All the people that came to the event seemed to really enjoy themselves."
